Roof Condition
Roof Type – roof with metal gutters and downpipes.
Age – 1980s.
Size – 400m2
Issues – the roof had many tall trees overhanging it which had dropped leaves that had built up over a few years. The client noticed that during the previous winter, some water was seeping back into the overhanging eaves as it could not flow freely through the gutters and downpipes in some areas. There was substantial moss and debris build up.
Approach
Process Used – initially cleared the bulk of the debris by hand. Then using a no-chemical, high-pressure wash to remove moss growth and leaf debris from the gutters and to unblock the downpipes to ensure a free flow of water.
Results
Outcome– Leaf debris and moss growth was removed. Gutters and downpipes were cleaned via pressure washing. Testing show that water flowed freely without overflow or spillage.
Summary– The gutters and downpipes were cleaned and tested for water flow, ensuring that the potential for overspill into the eaves was reduced.
Time Taken – 6 hours in total.
